South Palms Resort

South Palms Resort

South Palms Resort is located in Panglao, Bohol. It is lined with coconut trees and white sand beach. The resort has 90 rooms so it is on a smaller scale which we like. It has one main restaurant, a bar and two swimming pools. It is a bit pricey but I got a very good deal with my credit card at the time of booking, that was really nice. Otherwise, it would have been out of our budget.

We had complimentary pick up service from the airport because we were staying a week at the resort. I only found out about these because they emailed me a couple of weeks before we our reservations. That is always nice of course so I informed them what my flight is and they were promptly there. You could not miss the van since it had the logo of the resort on there. Their employee had our name on a paper too so it was really easy to locate him. From the Tagbilaran airport to the resort, it took roughly about 30 minutes. However, we saw some information on a billboard about the Panglao International Airport which makes sense since most of the resorts are on this island. I don’t know when it will open but it should be in the next few years.

The resort also has a free shuttle service to Alona beach three times a day.

South Palms Resort Lobby

The entrance is open concept like most of the resort surrounded by lush greenery. As you enter towards the reception, they have a gift shop on the right and also a PNB atm machine. On the left you will find the entry to Oceanica Restaurant where they serve the complimentary buffet breakfast each morning. You can also have dinner here if you are not a guest of the resort.  When we reached reception, they gave us welcome drinks. Our room has been prepaid so they just gave us our key. Then we were directed to our room with the help of one of their workers. It was quick and nice.

South Palms Resort Deluxe Rooms

We checked into the Deluxe Garden View Room. It sounds flashy but this is their most inexpensive room. They have 7 different rooms available in the resort: the Deluxe Garden View, the Deluxe Pool View, the Deluxe Beach Front, Premium Beach Front, Beach Villa, South Palms Villa and Panglao Villa. The first three make up most of the room with difference only in size and location. The last four are more specialized.

Our bed was really nice and big. I think its two double beds put together. It was really soft and comfortable. On either side of the bed were tables with controls for the lights and outlets. The front of the bed has a long console with the phone, fridge and a mirror.

When we went inside the room, we saw this cute towel with a personalized message with our names on it. We also got this weaved basket which was really nice to take to the beach. We also got some complimentary peanut kisses and red wine in our room.

The cabinet is located on the end of the room as well as the bathroom which had a shower and complimentary toiletries. Our room had AC as well and a small seating area outside where we can also hang our beach towels. The room was really comfortable and nicely designed. We love the twice a day turnover service. Although we had the garden room, it was still a short walk to the beach.

We had breakfast at the Oceania Restaurant each day. It was a really generous breakfast spread. They had the usual Filipino food fare like longganisa, meats, fried rice. They also had an egg station, pancake station, fruit fridge, bread station, salad station, and also juice dispensers. You can seat anywhere but for us the best seats were always at the edge of the restaurant facing the sea.

This was my usual breakfast. 😛 I had some sort egg, fried rice, cured meat, fruits and fruit juice while the boyfriend had cereals, milk, coffee and fruit.

The main attraction of the resort is the amazing beach front. Aside from this, the resort has a main restaurant and the Coast Pool bar where we had pizza and drinks before. You can also opt to have dinner here. It has really nice colorful chairs.

The resort also has two swimming pools. The main pool is right in front of the main restaurant and it also faces the beach. The second pool is on the left side of the resort in between rooms and cabanas surrounded by a nice garden.

They also have massage services available in the resort. They are cozily located beach front on open huts with mosquito net coverings.

We really had a nice time at South Palms Resort Bohol. The place was amazing in itself but the service was also amazing. Areas they can improve at are the food at the restaurant. They are on the pricey side. If I can give a tip on your stay here is that you get better value for your money if you have lunch or dinner at the Bohol Beach Club which is the resort next door.  Except for that, we really had a wonderful stay. We dream of coming back someday. 🙂
