Sisters Prague is a popular small shop that sells traditional Czech open sandwiches. Origin of open sandwiches are from the middle ages where a piece of bread was used as a plate and had different kinds of toppings put on top of it. They have a wide variety of traditional Czech open sandwiches made fresh everyday.
SISTERS PRAGUE LOCATION
The Sisters Prague is located on Stare Mestro in Old Town. Coincidentally, it is right across the hotel we stayed at – Residence Bene Hotel. It is easily accessible via trams and subway. You can also access it by foot from the Old Town Square, it is approximately 2 blocks or a 10 minute walk from there.
They have quite a selection of open sandwiches. They have labels on top to see what they consist of but the ladies that worked there were happy to explain to you what is in the sandwiches. Seating is a bit limited so it’s good to come at odd hours when it’s not so busy.
WHAT I ATE AT SISTERS PRAGUE
I got the Roast beef (49czk) and Feta with Chili (29 czk). It was really good. I didn’t have any problem finishing the sandwiches. Prices were very reasonable. In Philippine peso, my lunch is approximately 155 pesos or about $3.5. If you want to look at what kinds of sandwiches they have, you can click here. Next time, I would like to try the Ham and Potato salad and the Spread the beet with goat cheese. That is another reason to come back. Haha.
I recommend this sandwich shop if you want to have a light lunch and try the traditional Czech open sandwiches. The ambiance is really cozy and very casual. Service is quite friendly. Across from Sisters Prague is also a popular meat place and butcher. So maybe you can try both. 🙂
