Residential Hotel Hare Shin-Osaka review is my experience on staying at this aparthotel located close to the Shin-Osaka station. We chose Residential Hotel Hare Shin Osaka mainly because of it’s size. We were looking at rooms on booking sites and they were usually 10-15 square meters. The rooms at this hotel are 35 square meters. It’s also a walking distance from Shin-Osaka station which is very convenient for transportation and food options. We got to the hotel from Kansai International airport by the Haruka limited express which is just two stops away from the airport.
In Japan, we noticed the punctuality of people. It is mostly good except that they also don’t know how to adjust. We were at the hotel two hours early from check in. Normally, if a room is available they let you check in. In Japan, this is not the case. You really need to check in by the clock. We saw a family with a kid at our hotel in Tokyo just waiting at the lounge for check in time. Same thing that happened to us there too. I sent a request for early check-in at booking.com and they said that they relayed the request to the hotel but it is not guaranteed. That is understandable. We were just hoping we could get in our room to take in some rest after our long journey.
We were made to pay and were given our room keys and the code to the front door. Front desk is only open from 9am to 9pm. After that, we went to change clothes and went to Umeda Sky Building to pass time and return at check in time. They had an area with tables and chairs where you can eat and also a coffee machine you can get unlimited coffee or sweet matcha.
The room is very nice and quite big. It was more like a studio with a kitchenette, tables, toilet/bath, a balcony and even a washing machine. There are extra futons stored inside the chair/storage units but we never really had a need for them. The AC was nice especially because it was warm when we were there.
The toilet is across the bathroom. It’s the typical Japanese toilet with a lot of buttons for many things like washing, the noise, etc. 😛 The bathroom was small but sufficient. It even had a bath and I used it once to soak my feet in hot water. They also had Shiseido bath gel, shower and conditioner. They had nice packaged amenities like hair ties, comb, ear buds, etc.
We did not cook although we used a lot of the cutlery and bowls for breakfast. The hotel did not offer breakfast so we just bought some things the night before at the nearby convenience store and eat it in the morning for breakfast. I used the washing machine once to just wash our dirty clothes. It was warm anyway so they dried quite fast outside the balcony.
The location is excellent. It’s about two blocks away from the Shin-Osaka station as long as you go on the correct exit. It makes it easier to travel through Osaka and other cities. We also particularly chose this area because we were taking the Shinkansen on our last day. There were two Family Marts on walking distance from the hotel. I also saw a few restaurants but I’ve never tried any of them. We went at the station because there were more restaurants there.
