PHILIPPINE PASSPORT ONLINE APPOINTMENT
With the new president comes a very much awaited improvement for the Philippine Passport Online Appointment system. Before it was limited only to Manila offices, now I can see that you can do it worldwide which is really good news for every Filipino citizen in the world.
HOW TO MAKE YOUR PHILIPPINE PASSPORT ONLINE APPOINTMENT
On this page, you can either do an individual or group appointment. This is very smart as most Filipinos do apply in groups especially as a family. On this page, you can also view appointments.
After you check the box for having agreed with the terms and condition. You either click on the Start Individual appointment or Start Group Appointment. On the next page, you will see the SITE LOCATION page where you choose the DFA office you want to lodge your Philippine Passport Online Application to.
On the next page, it gives you a calendar and you can find available dates. Note that the slot is only reserved for you for 10 minutes so you must quickly fill out the information or you can just choose another time slot if it happens to expire by the end of filling out the application.
Once you get a date, you fill in your personal information.
Then your Family information
Then your Application Information.
Then your Contact information.
On the last page, it will ask you to verify all of the information if it is correct. It will ask you to check the box where it asks you if you are a robot and that if you agree with the rules on the red box before you click next. Then it will take you to the page where it confirms your appointment.
They will email you the confirmation. You would have to click on the link to confirm your appointment. If you don’t within 72 hours, it means that you did not confirm your appointment. It will be automatically cancelled.
When you confirm it, you will get another email confirming the appointment. Also, you will see this on the page.
You have up to 3 days before your appointment to cancel it. To do that you just need to go to the link where you view your appointment which is listed below:
Then you input the appointment code which can be found on the email they sent to you. You have to input your email address as well and click the box where it says you have to prove you’re not a robot. Then, click next. You should see your appointment details listed on the page like what is shown below.
On this page where you view your appointment, you can either download the form to print it, reschedule it, or you can cancel your appointment here. Once you click the cancel appointment, it will ask you to confirm it on the next page and finally let you know that it was cancelled. You also get confirmation on your email address.
There are also some friendly reminders from the PDF file that you do download which consists of 3 pages of your application. The first page is the reminder.
The Philippine Passport Online Appointment System is pretty straightforward. It makes it easier for most people only if the system is not taken advantage of by unscrupulous individuals. As of January 2018, a lot of people are having problems setting an appointment because most of them are already taken. In DFA Marquee, the nearest appointment I can get was in June. That is 4 months of waiting time. I read a lot of news online that there are travel agencies selling appointments. Even people that work in the DFA alledgedly. This should not be happening. The system was meant to modernize and make this process easier but it can also be taken advantage of. I really hope that they do something about it.
