The Bohol Countryside Tour is a must do when you go to Bohol. You can do this in many ways by arranging it with a travel agency or your hotel. If you would like to go the DIY route, I’ve seen some people rent motorbikes to see the island. We rented a car with a driver for the two of us. It can actually fit 4 people. If there are more people in your group, vans are also available.
South Palms Resort is located in Panglao, Bohol. It is lined with coconut trees and white sand beach. The resort has 90 rooms so it is on a smaller scale which we like. It has one main restaurant, a bar and two swimming pools. It is a bit pricey but I got a very good deal with my credit card at the time of booking, that was really nice. Otherwise, it would have been out of our budget.
Park Inn by Radisson Clark is located at the rear of SM Clark so it’s ideally located. We had a short overnight stay at this hotel. The Clark International Airport also known as Diosdado Macapagal Airport is only 10-15 minutes away by car without traffic. It’s exactly why I chose this hotel. My boyfriend was arriving at Clark airport and we were flying to Manila the next day. I decided to just stay the night in Clark rather than Manila because he had such a long travel time. It would be better just to relax. We decided to just go the next day.
If you have a foreigner friend asking you what to see in the Philippines for a few weeks? What do you tell them? The Philippines is an archipelago located in Southeast Asia. Unlike its popular neighboring countries that are easier to reach, you have to actually plan a trip to go here. It is a destination. It can’t be reached by land from the Asian mainland like most of Southeast Asia. In my opinion, it is special that way because it makes it less touristy or super crowded. It was my boyfriend’s first visit in the country and I wanted to make it memorable. We had a time frame of 3 weeks. It would be impossible to see everything in that short time.
Matutina’s is a seafood restaurant located in San Sebastian, Tarlac City. It’s along the highway across the intersection next to the SOGO Hotel so it’s hard to miss. It serves mostly Filipino food with affordable prices. My friend and I met after not seeing each other in a while. I was craving pinakbet and Matutina’s makes some mean Pinakbet so we decided to eat there.
Wangfu Marquee Mall is a Chinese restaurant serving familiar Chinese fare at affordable prices with really good decor. It was relatively new at the time we went and we’ve never been there before so we decided to just try it. We were not disappointed.

According to their website, Banapple is your friendly bakery cafe that serves freshly-baked pies, cheesecakes and desserts, as well as good food and coffee. They are very popular in Metro Manila as I have seen them around Makati so it was a good thing to have them closer here in the North. Banapple Marquee Mall opened at the end of May this year and it’s located near the mall entrance, next to North Park and Yellow Cab Pizza on the left side if you are entering the mall.
