Food I ate in Toronto, Canada

I actually ate a lot while I was in Canada since we didn’t have much to do but eat out. I’m not complaining.

This was from a late night dinner coming from Niagara at China Town in downtown Toronto.

Swiss Chalet Restaurant in Canada

My two young cousins from Canada always tells two things about food in Canada: Swiss Chalet and Tim Horton’s. My cousin who loves ribs tells me this is his favorite restaurant. On our way to Niagara Falls on a really snowy day, we dropped by Swiss Chalet for lunch.

Bucket List: Taking my Brother to an NBA Game in Toronto

It has long been a dream of mine to take my brother to watch an NBA game since we are big basketball fans. So when we visited Toronto, it was in our to do list. We initially wanted to watch the Toronto Raptors vs. the Oklahoma City Thunders but their tickets were really expensive and the schedule on a Sunday was pretty tight so we decided to watch the Toronto Raptors vs. the Philadelphia 76ers game instead.

The Toronto Raptors game are held in the Air Canada Center. It also hosts the hockey games and a few concerts here and there. It is in downtown and accessible by subway.

Toronto’s CN Tower

Toronto’s CN Tower is undoubtedly one of Toronto’s main tourist attraction. We almost didn’t go since it seemed a bit foggy when we were in the downtown area. We were afraid we won’t see anything at all when we’re high up. Since we’re already there and we didn’t want to make another trip the following day, we decided to just go when the weather seemed to clear up.

Toronto has a very efficient transportation system in place through subways, streetcars, and buses. We took the subway a few times. The subway system has only 3 lines which is pretty straightforward.

Niagara Falls in Winter

Niagara Falls in Winter was really cold. In fact, some of parts of the falls were frozen. We had about 20 minutes max to take pictures and run back to the car for heat. It was still very pretty. Niagara Falls is about an hour and a half drive outside of Toronto.

My Maneki Neko

Meet my first Maneki Neko. I named it Koko. 😛 I actually got it at this popular Chinese Mall called Pacific Mall in Toronto. It was full of Asians, you would think you were in Hong Kong and not in Canada. They had this whole store of Maneki Nekos. I asked the lady for luck and love and she recommended this one. 🙂

You probably see a lot of these cats in Chinese stores where they are considered good luck and they beckon customers with their raised paw. They say white is for general good luck and pink is for love.

I think this is a pre-emption of things to come, right koko?
