RichKing Korean Cafe

RichKing Korean Cafe

There were a few good restaurants that opened recently in my city and of course we had to try them. I think it’s good and it shows progress and as consumers, we get options. 🙂 RichKing Korean Cafe is owned by a South Korean who has lived in the Philippines for a few years. I didn’t take a picture of the restaurant from my phone so I had to link one from their facebook page. It is located at San Roque. It is right above the D&C Restaurant, near BDO and Siesta bus station. This is their facebook page for more information.

Jack meets Kaldi Specialty Coffee

Jack meets Kaldi Specialty Coffee

There is this new restaurant that we visited a week ago called Jack Meets Kaldi Specialty Coffee. When a new restaurant/food place opens up, we just have to try it. When you see it on your Facebook feed, your curiosity just grows more. It is located on Bypass road in between San Sebastian and Fairlane Subdivision. It is next to Primadelli Restaurant. You won’t miss it. The place is beautiful and they have a large outdoor space in front of the cafe. This is their facebook page for more information.

Dakasi in SM Tarlac

IMG_4434

Dakasi is a company that originated in Taiwan. It offers a wide range of pearl milk tea or bubble tea, and other drinks. This branch in SM Tarlac just opened about a month ago or early this month. I even got a pen as a promotion. It is located on the lower ground floor, across the food court. This branch is really tiny with just two tables and less than 10 chairs so there really isn’t room to hangout. It’s just a grab and go kind of store.

Beautiful Moments Cafe

On a rainy Saturday night, me and my friends went to try out this new cafe along Benry Square on McArthur Highway next to the radio station. This is their facebook page.

I was surprised to see that the interior was really nice, as well as the furniture. The style is kind of old European. The wait staff are also dressed nicely unlike the usual t-shirt I am used to.

Pancake House Luisita

I met up with a friend’s friend who’s a travel agent. I needed to get a couple of documents from her. We decided to meet up at Hacienda Luisita in San Miguel, Tarlac. It’s about 15-20 minutes drive from where I live. I usually don’t go to this part of town that often so I decided to have some merienda at the Pancake House. It was my first time at this place and I’ve been craving waffles and breakfast food. I miss Denny’s.

Nuat Thai Massage

I tried this new place called Nuat Thai Massage. It’s located across SM City Tarlac. I think it’s barely a month old. They only offer massages. Unlike Bioessence, they don’t try to up-sell any kind of product or services while you’re trying to relax. It is a very good thing. They had about six or seven kinds of massages on their menu. I tried the Thai Body Massage for P200.00 which is roughly $4-$5 and I had to pay upfront.

Tutti Frutti

We tried this newly opened yogurt store called Tutti Frutti. It’s expensive. P20 per ounce. Most people don’t know that the price is per ounce. We saw this poor guy fill up his small cup and he was so surprised that it cost him P200. It seemed like it was all the money he had.

The Town Fiesta

Today is a local holiday so the banks, schools and government agencies are closed. The other night, they had a beauty competition for the town title. Yesterday they had a parade. Tonight, I know that there will be an event at the plazuela with dancing and showbiz personalities coming.

I miss the good old days when people would prepare food in their homes and welcome anybody who would come, that’s how I remember it back then. Now, it’s mostly the Barangay Chairman or those in public office who does that for obvious reasons. My cousin and his friends just went from house to house of Barangay Captains to eat, drink and be merry.

So, what did I do instead? Eat – at home. Actually, my mom’s friend got me these – the Kamote-cue and the Banana-cue. I haven’t had one in 10 years?

Pig Out Wednesday

Today, I had eaten so much! To think that I’m sick and I still have this crazy appetite.

After lunch, I wanted something sweet so I got me a slice of Brazo de Mercedes in this really cute heart plate I recently got from a discount store. I had to drink orange juice and my meds.
