Isdaan Tarlac

Isdaan Tarlac

Isdaan Tarlac is a local open restaurant serving Filipino food located along the highway in Gerona, Tarlac. It’s a famous stop over for commuters traveling along the highway north. The restaurant has a very traditional decor and huts built with bamboo that are floating on water. It has some big figures too like a big Buddha at the top of a structure you can take pictures with and wide rice fields in the background.

Siargao Island Tour

Siargao Island Tour

Besides surfing, other popular activities on the island is the Siargao Island Tour. We only had limited time on the island so we decided to just go on one tour. We chose the tour that includes three islands and the Mapupungko pools.

Siargao Island Tour Booking

There are several companies that do the island tours of course and we went with My Siargao Guide. At the time, I sent them a text message to inquire and they can confirm if they still had space for the tour the following day. We just had to pay for it at the reception of Bravo Resort the day before. Thankfully, Bravo Resort was just a 10-15 minute walk from our resort. The fee was 1,200 per person which includes the guide, boat, fees and lunch.

Isla Cabana Siargao

Isla Cabana Siargao

Isla Cabana Siargao is one of the top hotels on the island of Siargao. It’s a beach front property and centrally located with restaurants and stores within easy reach. That was the main reason I booked the hotel. They also have individual cabanas which I really like and not rooms next to each other. You have privacy and good amenities. Although recently, they’ve built an additional building with regular rooms that faces the street on General Luna. At the time of our stay, there were three kinds of rooms which were the Superior Villa, Premier Villa and Deluxe Villa. It’s on the expensive side so this is a splurge accommodation for us.

Rice Restaurant Princesa Garden

Rice Restaurant Princesa Garden

Rice Restaurant is one of the three restaurants at Princesa Garden Resort and Spa Palawan. It’s the same restaurant where they serve the complimentary breakfast. They also are open for lunch and dinner. We had a pick out of the three and we decided to try this one first. It serves Filipino and International cuisine. Their hotel website says that they show cultural presentations on occasion outdoor but it was not the case when we were there maybe because it was low season.

Hungry Yard Tarlac

Hungry Yard Tarlac

Hungry Yard Tarlac is the city’s first food park. It is built on container shelves like most food park in the Philippines. The place has about 25-30 food stalls. It can be packed on weekends especially on holidays. Hungry Yard Tarlac has varied selection from comfort food to desserts and craft beers. It is located on the San Sebastian/San Vicente diversion road which is basically the back of SM Tarlac which has been becoming like a restaurant row since a lot of food establishments have opened there in the last few years. That area is very much alive at night.

Cebu City Tour

Cebu City Tour

Cebu City is the queen city of the South in the Philippines. It’s the second biggest Metropolitan area in the Philippines. It is the first Spanish settlement in the country making it the oldest city. It has a lot of history. In this Cebu City Tour, we went to visit the Old Fort which is pictured above. We also went to see Magellan’s cross, not the original of course but a representation of it. We also saw some old churches.

Best Western Plus Cebu Review

Best Western Plus Cebu Review

I chose Best Western Plus Cebu because it was reasonably priced including breakfast and it was centrally located. The Cebu Ferry Terminal is only 3 kilometers away. There are also a lot of restaurants around the area. In fact, there is a McDonald next door. The rooms look great and the breakfast was nice. Looking back, I wish we had stayed on Mactan Island although the hotels there are much more expensive. I hope this Best Western Cebu Plus Review gives you an insight on what it’s like to stay in this hotel.
