On our fourth and final day, we decided to go back to the Malls and just chill before our flight. We took the train to KLCC Suria.
We purchased our Genting tickets the day before. We got the Go Genting package for RM 47 per person where you get round trip bus tickets + round trip cable car rides + lunch buffet or outdoor theme park ticket. You have to specify what time you would like to go and leave. We wanted to leave earlier than scheduled so we just had to wait if there were available seats on the earlier bus so they’re pretty flexible. 🙂
I was going to start my Europe posts but I realized that I’m not finished with my Malaysia posts yet so I’ll finish those up first. 🙂
Took the train to Gombak in the morning for MYR 2.40..
KLCC Suria is probably one of my favorite malls in Kuala Lumpur. It is accessible by LRT and has its own stop. It is more of an upscale mall with designer stores like Burberry, Louis Vuitton (coming soon), and the like but it is not intimidating. There are still plenty of other stores you can go to if you can’t afford the Burberry price range. I think we went to this mall three times during our stay. 😛
Here’s the LRT stop at KLCC
You just exit and follow the crowd and you will realize that you’re inside the mall already when you see the bakeries and cafes.
I was looking for budget options for our 4 day vacation in Kuala Lumpur. I found KL Sentral to be the location that would be most accessible to us since the bus from LCCT stops directly here. The Genting bus also leaves and drops off people here. Since we have an early flight, we needed a hotel/hostel that would be close by as not to miss our flight.
I found My Hotel Sentral to be clean and close to Sentral station, fits my budget too. It doesn’t hurt that it had good Tripadvisor reveiws. I had found nicer options but they were a bit more pricier and since I was paying for the hotel, I had to find the most economical place possible. I found a triple bed option at My Hotel Sentral for about MYR 160 or PHP2200. My credit card was currently having a promo with Agoda and I got an extra 10% off.
Here’s our room. It was very clean and kept that way every day. 🙂
I was in Kuala Lumpur last week. We wanted to go to Bangkok but decided against it because of the floods. It was a good thing that Air Asia was having a promo right around the time we wanted to book tickets. 🙂 I had no expectations of Malaysia. Searched the blogs on Google but didn’t see as much articles on it like the more popular destinations in Asia.
I had a good time and I got to see two towers holding hands or pushing each other, depends how you look at it. 😀
