Flying with FinnAir

Flying with FinnAir

Flying with Finnair was a mixed bag. Some things were nice and some can certainly be improved. It was my first time flying with them. They had good prices for Asian routes so we bought our tickets with them. We planned a trip to Japan and chose to fly through Osaka. They also fly to other cities in Japan like Tokyo and Fukuoka. Love their blueberry juice! You can read through my experience below.

Flying with Etihad Airways

Flying with Etihad Airways

I flew with Etihad Airlines on economy class for my winter trip to Europe last December. I have no airline loyalty so far. I always go with the cheapest price point but always with reputable airlines. I tend to stay away from airlines that I’ve had bad experiences with from the past or bad reviews from friends. I have flown with Etihad before but my experience was so-so. It wasn’t exactly great. It wasn’t too bad either. Flying with Etihad Airways this time was a much better experience.

Cebu Pacific flight from Manila to Sydney

Cebu Pacific flight from Manila to Sydney

We bought our tickets from a seat sale and it was really affordable at 13,110 pesos or $280 for round trip tickets from Manila to Sydney. This can actually be cheaper. Our uncle’s wife got her promo fare at less than 7,000 pesos when it was on promotion in Sydney. Those are probably limited but still. It’s a really good promotion for this route. Of course, this is just basic meaning no food or any other concessions you get from a regular airline like blankets (they actually sell those on board) and drinks. You all have to pay extra for those. Also, if you want check in luggage, you’d have to pay extra for that too.

MIASCOR Lounge at NAIA 1 and flying with Thai Airways

So NAIA 1 had a bit of a face lift, mostly cosmetic with the new ceilings and carpet. They also have better concessionaires from before which is a good thing. They still have to deal with that leaking ceiling. I guess it’s better than no improvement at all.

Flying with Swiss Air

Flying with Swiss Air

I went on a 4 day trip with my aunties to Madrid and I must say flying with Swiss Air was a nice experience. It was surprisingly cheaper than Easy Jet (the known budget airlines in Europe) at the time of booking. My aunts already purchased their tickets at a cheaper rate when it went on sale a few months ago. I only purchased mine a few weeks before the trip so it was a lot more expensive. I had to secure my visa first before I could book anything. Anyway.. Checkin was a breeze, you can print out your boarding passes on a kiosk which we did. We also did the online checkin the night before so we just dropped off our luggage at the counter. We still had to line up but our line was shorter.

Flying with Emirates Airlines

I’ve always wanted to fly Emirates Airlines but since it’s usually the most expensive, it’s not even an option most of the time. This trip though, the price was the best among the top 3 Middle Eastern airlines. Emirates Airlines is also this year’s World’s Best Airline.

Kansai Airport through Jetstar and the ICOCA card

IMG_5008

This whole trip got started when my cousin tipped me off about a sale on Jetstar. She knows how much I’d love to go to Japan. She already purchased her ticket which were sold out fast unsurprisingly. They went the other route while I asked another cousin if she wanted to go on this trip. So, I immediately purchased us a Manila-Osaka, Tokyo-Manila tickets which were around 8,000+ pesos excluding optional additional luggage for a fee. On researching about this trip, I had to find out what is the best way to get into the city. I learned a lot about Kansai Airport and the ICOCA card.
